Peacocking around on the lake today with one of our favorite yoga poses--Mayurasana. This is a great arm balancing challenge and is fantastic for bent arm strength. It can be a little intense on the wrists and forearms, so make sure you have the proper wrist mobility before attempting this pose. One way to build wrist mobility that will compliment this pose is by kneeling on the ground, putting your hands out in front of your knees and turning your fingers in towards your knees. Ensure that your arms stay straight and gradually lean back and sway from side-to-side. As you get more flexible you can creep your hands further away from your knees, thus intensifying the stretch.
We find that regular yoga practice immensely benefits our daily training by allowing us to use various poses as benchmarks. When we find certain poses unusually challenging, we use that information to discern what aspects of our training we need to increase or improve upon. Yoga strikes an amazing balance between strength, balance, mobility and flexibility. If you’re not doing it you should start today. There’s tons of free yoga content on YouTube, but our favourite is certainly @yogabycandace
Candace has seemingly endless hours of awesome/ informative content and if it weren’t for her I think it’s safe to say we’d both still be as stiff as a board 😂
