This video was taken on 6/9/16. As you can see, they've made incredible progress, and are absolute cuddle bugs. (Volume up)
If the three of us could have run away and lived alone on an island somewhere that would have been great, but I was trying to prepare them for the real world.
By this time they had an adopter (thanks to @instagram
) who understood their limitations but also wanted to be able to pet their kittens.
This is where Foster Dad comes in handy. Not only is he awesome, but he's another set of hands that don't smell like me. My mother-in-law also came for a visit during this time, so they got used to her. I try to ask anyone I can think of to come over and play with/handle the kittens. This really helps with their socialization. The more diverse, the better. Diversity is good! Kids are really helpful here. If you can tell a potential adopter that your foster kitten is good with kids, you've just increased that kitten's chances of getting adopted. 🐼🐭
The first two cats ( male and female ) are fed by our member in Rawang. They were caught on Tuesday ( 17/1/2017 ). The female was in her early pregnancy. We just got her in time for spaying.
The 3rd to the 7th cats ( 4 females and 1 male ) were caught at Dutamas on Wednesday ( 18/1/2017 ). 2 female cats were in their early pregnancy. Good that we got them in time before more unwanted kittens are born.
The 8th female cat is fed by Caleb in Puchong. She was caught and spayed on Tuesday ( 17/1/2017 ). The last female cat is fed by Jessie in Kota Kemuning. She was also caught on Tuesday ( 17/1/2017 ) and spayed on Wednesday. The total cost for all their neutering is RM1835. Thanks so much Pat for contributing all their neutering costs. God bless you ❤️️🐾
3 years ago, we were working on one of our main pilot projects - the Damai Pack. When we first encountered the pack, there were only 5 dogs (3 males, 2 females). Only the alpha male was friendly, the rest were feral. Over time, an additional female appeared. It was Blackie. She was clearly abandoned as she was super friendly with people, would roll over on her back for us to rub her belly the moment we approached, knows how to "sit" and literally walked right into the cage when we tried to trap her. After she was spayed, she was adopted by a family but unfortunately she was returned after a year (again by people with lame excuses). We took her back to reside in our Transit Centre but because she is domesticated and has a medium-long coat, she doesn't cope well living there. Also her "housemate" Bobo has now been adopted so she will be alone in her enclosure now.
Hence we are urgently looking for a good forever home for her so she gets the life she deserves. If anyone could foster her in the meantime, that would be really great too. She is the most sweet-natured dog ever, loves car rides, loves going out and is great with people.
If you can adopt/foster her please call +6012-9696573 or +6012-6564232. Please help share as well. Thank you! ❤️️🐾
